The DeShane Family established the Ray DeShane Memorial Scholarship Fund at Paraclete with a funding goal of $25,000.
The Ray DeShane fund was created to honor Ray’s love of coaching and to honor his love for Paraclete. To date this fund has raised to date: $7,538.69. We would very much like to reach our goal of 25K to honor Ray.

Coach Raymond DeShane went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2018, surrounded by his family and friends. After high school, he attended Bakersfield Jr. College. Coach Ray received a full ride football scholarship to U.N.L.V. and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. In 1974 Ray taught and coached football at Paraclete High School where he met the love of his life Sharon Thompson. The two wed in 1977 and had five children together. Ray finished his education achieving a master’s degree at Azusa Pacific University, as he continued to teach and coach football.
Coach Ray was a legend of a man both on and off the football field. He loved the Lord his God and set an example to everyone that crossed his path. Ray coached off and on at Paraclete throughout the years, and also coached at numerous other Antelope Valley schools, including Antelope Valley College.
The DeShane Family established the Ray DeShane Scholarship Fund at Paraclete with a goal of $25,000. This fund is overseen by the DeShane family. If you would like to donate to this effort, please include the name “Coach Ray DeShane” in the memo of your check.
